Luke Adam was released from his professional tryout with Calgary on Sunday, Dhiren Mahiban of The Canadian Press reports.Adam inked the deal with the Flames on Sept. 21 but must not have impressed enough to stay with the club. Flames' Luke Adam: Inks professional tryout agreement with Flames

Luke Adam will join the Calgary Flames on a professional tryout agreement, Pat Steinberg of Sportsnet reports.Adam is coming off back-to-back AHL seasons where he averaged over a point per two contests between the Rochester Americans, Springfield Falcons, and the Hartford Wolfpack. The former AHL Rookie of the Year stands at six-foot-two and 206 pounds and uses his size to effectively score on rebound opportunities in front of the net. If he does get inked to a long-term contract with the Flames following his tryout, it appears unlikely he will claim a featured role in the lineup until he can prove his talent translates to the NHL.

FA Adam Agrees To Terms With Rangers

Adam agreed to terms with the Rangers on Friday. The 25-year-old spent most of last season in the AHL, appearing in 73 games for the Rochester Americans and registering 16 goals and 26 assists. He saw time in only three NHL games for Columbus, recording four penalty minutes. Adam will likely again see time at both the AHL and NHL levels next season.

    Jackets Don't Tender Adam

Adam wasn't tendered a contract by the Blue Jackets on Monday and will become an unrestricted free agent.Adam appeared in only three games with the Blue Jackets last season, but that was likely only a byproduct of the team enduring substantial hits to its depth due to injury. The 25-year-old will try to land an AHL spot with whichever organization he lands this offseason.
