Red Wings' Brad Richards: Scores in 5-2 loss Wednesday
Brad Richards netted his eighth goal of the season in a 5-2 loss to Chicago on Wednesday.Richards has given Detroit about what they expected from the 14-year veteran this season in occasional scoring from the third line. He actually has been more productive on the power play this season, with 10 points compared to seven last season, but his overall production is down. His days as a great fantasy option are over, but Richards' veteran presence adds some intangibles to the Detroit Red Wings' lineup.

The center's production has waned over the last couple seasons, and he's on pace for the least points of his career this year. That being said, he's not relied upon as heavily in Detroit, and is there to provide a steady second-line presence rather than light up the scoreboard.
