Markus Granlund: Headed overseas
Markus Granlund agreed to terms on a contract with KHL club Salavat Yulaev Ufa on Sunday, TSN.ca reports.Granlund started the 2019-20 campaign on the 23-man roster with Edmonton, but after struggling to produce was waived and shipped down to the minors in late December. The 26-year-old made a few more appearances in the NHL prior to the league going on hiatus, yet he was ultimately limited to just 34 contests in which he logged 10:50 of ice time per game. With his contract up at the end of the season, the center will make the move to the KHL, having last played in Europe back in 2012-13 for Finnish side HIFK Helsinki.
