Blue Jackets' Marc-Andre Bergeron: Clears waivers
Marc-Andre Bergeron has cleared waivers and is slated to remain with AHL Cleveland for now, Aaron Portzline of The Columbus Dispatch reports.Bergeron, who last saw NHL action in 2012-13, has recorded three goals and nine points in 13 AHL games to date. Given that the 36-year-old blueliner still brings some offensive skills to the table, he could earn a call-up down the stretch. In such a scenario, the 5-foot-9, 190-pounder would need to see some power-play ice time in order to resurface as a fantasy option.

Blue Jackets' Marc-Andre Bergeron: Earns NHL deal
Marc-Andre Bergeron signed a two-way contract for the remainder of the season with Columbus on Tuesday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. After spending the last three campaigns playing in Switzerland's National League A, Bergeron returned to North America for 2016-17; he has nine points in 13 games for the AHL's Cleveland Monsters. The 36-year-old defenseman has a highly specialized skillset as an offensive defenseman, producing .48 points per game in his 490-game NHL career. That said, Bergeron is too often a liability in his own zone, which has limited his opportunities in the league. Bergeron will have to clear waivers to activate the contract and become eligible to be called up by Columbus.

Marc-Andre Bergeron: Released from tryout
Marc-Andre Bergeron was cut by the Blue Jackets on Wednesday, James Mirtle of the Globe and Mail reports.Bergeron spent the last three seasons playing with Zurich SC of the Swiss Elite League, and he appears destined for a return abroad after failing to secure a permanent contract with Columbus. The 35-year-old's most recent NHL stint came back in 2012-13, when he played in 25 games between the Lightning and Hurricanes, garnering nine points. Even if he can find a new home in the majors, the blueliner will offer next to nothing for fantasy purposes.

Blue Jackets' Marc-Andre Bergeron: Garners PTO with Blue Jackets
Marc-Andre Bergeron will try out for the Columbus Blue Jackets, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports. Now there's a name we haven't heard in awhile. Bergeron has 490 career NHL games (235 points) under his belt, but he'd been with Zurich SC of Swiss National League-A the past three years. Columbus was pitiful with the man advantage last season, converting just 17.3 percent of its chances, so there's merit to signing the 35-year-old to a professional tryout agreement -- the journeyman collected 44 goals and 80 assists on the power play over 10 years in the NHL.
