Tim Brent: Retiring from professional hockey
Tim Brent is calling it quits on his 16-year hockey career, Tony Androckitis of The Home News reports.Brent has not played in the NHL since 2012-13 when he was with the Hurricanes. Originally drafted by Anaheim, the center saw action in a mere 15 contests for them. In total, the 32-year-old logged 207 games in the majors while tallying 21 goals and 27 helpers. Brent put up solid numbers during his final season with AHL Lehigh Valley with 28 points in 52 matchups.

Flyers Sign Brent To One-Year Deal
Brent signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Flyers on Wednesday, Tim Riday of CSN Philadelphia reports.Brent returns to North America following a two-year stint in the KHL. The 31-year-old is expected to serve as a depth center with AHL Lehigh Valley during the upcoming season.
