Yan Stastny: Cut by the Blues
Yan Stastny was released from his professional tryout agreement by the Blues on Thursday.Stastny has not played in North America since the 2009-10 season, split between St. Louis and AHL Manitoba. The 33-year-old spent last season with the Schwenningen Wild Wings of the DEL, where he logged 20 points in 38 contests. It is unclear what the next step for the center will be, but it at this point, he seems like a long shot to land on a NHL roster.

Blues' Yan Stastny: Inks PTO with Blues
Yan Stastny signed a professional tryout agreement with St. Louis on Thursday, James Mirtle of TSN 1050 reports.Stastny spent the last six seasons playing hockey overseas in Russia, Sweden and Germany. Before that, the center had stints with Edmonton, Boston, and St. Louis but never made a significant impact, totally a career-high seven points during the 2008-09 season. Now in the twilight of his hockey career, the Quebec-native offers little more than line-depth on a St. Louis Blues' roster that has 12 forwards age 30 and under.
