Lightning's Jeff Tambellini: Returning to Europe
Jeff Tambellini signed a contract with Djurgardens IF of the Swedish Hockey League on Friday, TSN reports.Tambellini spent four seasons in Europe before signing a one-year, two-way contract with the Tampa Bay Lightning last summer. A first-round pick in 2003, Tambellini enjoyed a successful campaign with AHL Syracuse this past season, scoring 29 goals and setting up 20 more in 65 games, though the parent club did not end up utilizing him for a single game. Tambellini is 32 years old and it appears that his heart is set on playing overseas.
