Kyle Chipchura: Inks deal with Russian club
Kyle Chipchura signed a contract with Slovan Bratislava of Russia's KHL on Monday, TSN reports.Chipchura was selected 18th overall by Montreal in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, but struggled to live up to the lofty standards expected from such a high draft pick. While serving in a bottom-six role, his 2015-16 campaign with Arizona included four goals, eight assists and a minus-10 rating in 70 games.

Coyotes Waive Chipchura
Chipchura was waived by the Coyotes on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.It's not clear what motivated the Coyotes' decision to waive Chipchura, as the team already had an existing roster spot open to accommodate the impending return of David Moss (lower body) from injured reserve. Regardless, Chipchura will now be available to claim by any NHL team, though it wouldn't be surprising if he went untouched. The 28-year-old has three points and has gathered 23 PIM in 16 games this season.
