The 32-year-old winger tallied 35 points in 71 games with Calgary and Washington last season.

Plans to play Tuesday
Glencross is scheduled to play in Tuesday's preseason game against the Flames, Mike Chambers of the Denver Post reports. The 32 year-old veteran signed a PTO contract with the Avalanche on Monday and will meet up with the team on Tuesday in Calgary. It's a convenient transition for Glencross who lives in Calgary and played for the Flames for six and a half seasons before being sent to Washington. It should also be noted that Glencross played with current Avs', Jerome Iginla and Alex Tanguay during his tenure in Calgary, although neither Iginla nor Tanguay will be playing in Tuesday's preseason game.

Joining Avalanche
Glencross will join with the Avalanche on a Professional Tryout.Glencross was released by the Maple Leafs on Sunday after failing to earn a contract with them, but he'll receive a second shot with the Avalanche. However, it's possible that Jack Skille's injury could be more severe than initially thought. If that's the case, Glencross could stand a decent shot at snagging a roster spot out of training camp.

Caps' Glencross Scores First Playoff Goal In Loss
Glencross scored his first NHL playoff goal in Friday's Game 5 loss to the Rangers. It was also the first point of the 2015 playoffs for Glencross, who logged just 10:12 of ice time in the loss. While he's a former 26-goal-scorer, the 32-year-old has taken on a reduced role with Washington and is currently skating on the fourth line. He knows how to put the puck in the net, but given the fact he's seeing so few minutes, don't expect impressive totals.
