The Tampa Bay Rays have stayed alive for at least one more night.
Facing elimination in Game 4 on Tuesday night, the Rays walked off the Milwaukee Brewers in the 12th inning to extend the World Series to a Game 5 on Wednesday.
The Rays secured the American League pennant by beating the Cleveland Guardians in ALCS Game 6 behind a massive home run by Junior Caminero. This marks their first World Series appearance since 2020, and only their third in franchise history (they lost to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2008). The Brewers, meanwhile, swept the Los Angeles Dodgers to win the National League pennant and make their first World Series since 1982.
Neither franchise has ever won a title, meaning we'll get a first-time champion regardless of the outcome.
