The Mets recalled outfielder Andrew Brown from Triple-A Las Vegas Friday to take the roster spot of struggling outfielder Collin Cowgill, who was optioned to the 51s. Brown, who was one of the team's final cuts during the spring, hit .367 with 13 doubles and 27 RBI in 25 games for Las Vegas.
He started in right field for Friday's game at Atlanta and served as the No. 8 hitter in the batting order during his first appearance with New York.
