The Angels have called up Kyle Kubitza from Triple-A Salt Lake City,and he will be making his Major League debut on Wednesday. Kubitza will get the start at third base and bat eighth on against the Rays, with David Freese nursing a hamstring injury.
In 57 games with Triple-A this season, Kubitza was batting .287 with 21 doubles, four triples, three home runs and 28 RBI. The 24-year-old was a third-round draft pick by the Braves in 2011, and was acquired by the Angels this offseason.
