Angels reliever Cory Rasmus, who has been on the disabled list all season after undergoing abdominal surgery, has started to throw, but still is not ready for a rehab assignment, per the Orange County Register.
Manager Mike Scioscia said that Rasmus suffered a minor setback in May when he hurt his back that has delayed the recovery process, but that the pitcher is fine now. He did not give a timetable as to when Rasmus would start his rehab assignments.
