- Houston recalled outfielder J.D. Martinez, catcher Carlos Corporan, pitcher Chuckie Fick and pitcher Dallas Keuchel, Zachary Levine of the Houston Chronicle reported. Martinez headlines the group, the Astros' Opening Day left fielder this season. The 25-year-old struggled, hitting just .235/.308/.373 after hitting .274/.319/.423 in 53 games last season.
- The Indians recalled pitchers David Huff and Scott Maine as well as infielders Cord Phelps and Vinny Rottino, the club announced. Phelps, a 25-year-old, offers the most intrigue. In three seasons at Triple-A Columbus (297 games), Phelps has hit .292/.374/.478 with 36 home runs, but he mainly plays second base and has been blocked by Jason Kipnis.
