Astros pitcher Samuel Deduno will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his hip next week, manager A.J. Hinch announced on Tuesday. The procedure is likely to be season ending, according to MLB.com.
The right-hander has been on the disabled since the middle of May, and was able to pitch one inning in a rehab appearance. But he walked four batters in that outing and has not taken to a mound since then.
If Deduno's 2015 season is in fact over, he'll finish with an 0-1 record and an ugly 6.86 ERA over 21 innings of relief.
