The Blue Jays have claimed outfielder Scott Cousins off waivers from the Marlins, Clark Spencer of The Miami Herald reported. The team confirmed the transaction Wednesday.
Cousins, 27, played in 53 games for Miami and limped to a .163/.200/.267 batting line in 92 plate appearances. He owns just a .523 OPS in his career and will likely be more famous for breaking Giants catcher Buster Posey's ankle in a collision at the plate in 2011 than his general performance on the field.
