It may be a lost season in Toronto, but the Blue Jays are welcoming back a pair of young contributors for the stretch drive. Third baseman Brett Lawrie and catcher J.P. Arencibia have completed their medical rehab assignments and will be in uniform for Toronto's game against the Red Sox on Friday night.
Lawrie has been sidelined since Aug. 3 because of an oblique strain, while Arencibia has been on the DL for almost two months after suffering a broken hand. On the season, the 22-year-old Lawrie is hitting .282/.326/.416. Arencibia, meanwhile, is batting .242/.279/.466 with 16 homers in 281 at-bats.
