Mariners starter Brandon Maurer rejoined the rotation Wednesday night at home against Houston. Maurer is taking over in the rotation for the recently shut down Taijuan Walker.

The young pitcher didn't have the best of nights as Houston earned the sweep in the series. He took the loss to fall to 4-8 as he gave up five runs on seven hits and no walks over just three innings. He needed 66 pitches to record just nine outs in the game. He struck out three and his ERA is now all the way up to 7.18 on the year.

With Maurer expected to keep starting in the rotation down the stretch, his next start for Seattle is currently scheduled for Monday at Detroit.
