Starter Brandon Maurer, who was demoted by the Mariners, made a nice debut with Triple-A Tacoma Monday night, MLB.com reports Tuesday.

Maurer allowed three hits and an earned run with three walks over 6 2/3 innings. He struck out seven against Sacramento.

Maurer remains in Seattle's plans as a 22-year-old starter. He's expected to remain in the minors for seasoning after going 2-7 with a 6.93 ERA over his first 10 major-league starts.
