The Brewers announced Friday that shortstop Hector Gomez has been sent outright to Triple-A Nashville.
The move reduces the number of players on the Brewers' 40-man roster to 36.
Gomez, who was claimed off waivers from the Rockies in June, was .105/.179/.211 in 85 plate appearances for the Brewers' Class-A Advanced affiliate this season.
Gomez was ranked No. 95 on Baseball America's Top 100 prospects list aftter hitting .266/.309/.421 with 11 home runs and 20 steals in 576 plate appearances as a 19-year-old at the Class-A level in 2007.
His only major-league experience came in 2011 with the Rockies, recording two singles and a walk in seven plate appearances over two games.
