San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy expects to have closer Brian Wilson ready by the end of spring training, Bochy told reporters Friday.
Wilson had Tommy John surgery in April, ending his season with just two innings pitched and one save to his credit.
Wilson played catch Friday for the first time since the surgery. After the 10-minute session, he said, "It felt great. Activate me."
Eligibile for arbitration this offseason after his two-year, $15-million contract ended in 2012, Wilson has 171 career saves, including a league-high 48 in 2010 for the Giants.
