Red Sox outfielder Carlos Peguero refused minor league assignment but re-signed with the organization on Monday, per the Boston Globe.
Peguero was purchased from Texas on May 27. He hit .200 in four games with the Sox and was designated for assignment, removing him from the 40-man roster.
The Red Sox tried to outright Peguero to Triple-A Pawtucket, but he refused the assignment. Instead, he signed a free-agent contract with the team and reported to Pawtucket.
