In his latest article, ESPN's Jayson Stark talks about some of the latest trade rumors.
- The Phillies are asking for a proven reliever and a young outfielder or first baseman for Shane Victorino. A club official from a different club told Stark they would have to cut their demand in half in order to get something for Victorino. The Phillies have inquired about Pittsburgh reliever Brad Lincoln, Rays pitcher Wade Davis, Indians infielder Vinny Rottino and Reds reliever Logan Ondrusek in different deals for Victorino.
- The Astros will continue selling players, but Jose Altuve is probably off the market. The rest of the team is “up for grabs.”
- Vernon Wells is being shopped by the Angels. The team doesn’t want to keep him as a fifth outfielder, and are looking for a team to trade for him. To do this, the Angels would have to eat a significant portion of Wells’ remaining contract. Wells, who is making $21 million this season, has an additional $42 million on his deal.
