Brian Sabean says he has talked to 15 teams about 25 players, but downplays the likelihood of a deal, the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
- Sabean acknowledges the Giants lack power (tied for last in the majors for home runs with the Dodgers), but says "I don't know if [a significant upgrade] exists."
- Sabean isn't planning on another rental deal like last season's Zack Wheeler-for-Carlos Beltran swap. “Anything we have do has to be significant upgrade and take us into the future."
- The Giants seem content to keep Angel Pagan and Gregor Blanco in the outfield as well as Brandon Crawford at shortstop. As such, targets will likely include bullpen and bench (specifically, a right-handed power bat) help.
