Giants outfielder Justin Maxwell came off the bench and delivered a key two-run home run in Saturday's win over the Dodgers. Maxwell was inserted into the game after left fielder Nori Aoki was forced to leave following the first inning with a leg contusion.
Maxwell came up in the fifth inning with the score tied 2-2. He launched a Carlos Frias pitch over the wall for a go-ahead two-run shot, his sixth of the season. It was his only hit of the game, but it proved to be the game-winner, as the Giants held on for the 6-2 victory.
"He's a threat. That's why he's good to have in the lineup," manager Bruce Bochy said, per MLB.com.
