Giants infielder Kelby Tomlinson unloaded the bases with one swing of the bat on Thursday. The rookie Tomlison launched his first-career home run for a grand slam, as the Giants beat the Cubs 9-1.
Tomlinson, who was a 12th-round draft pick by the Giants in 2011, has been productive since his callup after Joe Panik went down with an injury. Tomlinson has been playing nearly everyday since being promoted at the beginning of August, and he is batting .346 (18 for 52).
