Giants SS Brandon Crawford knocks ninth home run on Thursday

Giants shortstop Brandon Crawford continued his mastery over left-handed pitching on Thursday. Crawford launched his ninth home run of the season, a two-run shot off Mets lefty Jon Niese. The sixth-inning blast gave the Giants a 4-3 lead, but the Mets would end up with the 5-4 walk-off win on Thursday.

The home run was the only hit of the game for Crawford, who has now hit safely in 11 of his last 13 games. The lefty-swinging Crawford is batting .422 (19 for 45) with three home runs against southpaws, compared to his .252 average against right-handers.
