Diamondbacks center fielder Chris Young said when he knows he may have a chance to rob a home run, he slides his glove up on his hand to try to have just a little more of a chance to get a homer from back beyond the wall.
When Chris Denorfia launched David Hernandez's eight-inning pitch into center field, Young said he knew it was going to be over his head and slid his glove up onto his hand in an attempt to save the Diamondbacks' 1-0 lead. Instead, Young got to the wall before the ball did and his collision with the wall knocked his glove off his hand and over the fence. The ball actually struck Young's glove beyond the wall, but his hand was no longer in the glove.

"I kind of saw it happening when I was going back to it, in my mind I'm like I think I may have a chance to rob this one," Young told reporters (via MLB.com). "I knew it was going to be a homer off the bat, so it's just can you get to the wall in time to give yourself a chance? I got to the wall in time, but I think I needed about two more feet. It was just out of reach."
The homer gave San Diego a 2-1 lead, and ultimately deal the Diamondbacks their first loss of the season.
