  • A stiff back will keep De Aza out of the White Sox lineup on Monday night, according to ESPN Chicago. Jordan Danks, batting .306/.297/.333 on the season in 25 games, will start in center field for the White Sox and bat leadoff. 

  • A bruised elbow will keep Mariners shortstop Ryan out of the lineup again on Monday night in Baltimore, tweeted MLB.com's Greg Johns. Ryan last played on August 4, but he's available to pinch run, and is hoping to be back in the Mariners' starting lineup on Tuesday. 

  • Brewers right-handed starting pitcher Shaun Marcum, on the disabled list since mid-June with right elbow tightness, will make a rehab start with the Class A Wisconsin Timber Rattlers on Thursday, tweeted Brewers media relations director Mike Vassallo. Marcum is 5-3 on the season, with a 3.39 ERA and 1.17 WHIP, and he's struck out 77 batters in 82.1 innings. Earning $7.725 million this season, Marcum a free agent at the end of the season.
