Scary stuff for right-hander Jerome Williams and the Angels: Williams, after being pulled in the fourth inning of Monday night's eventual loss to the Giants, experienced dizziness and shortness of breath prior to passing out in the clubhouse.
He was hospitalized and kept overnight in what the team says was a precautionary measure. "I think he's feeling much better right now than he did when he left," Angels manager Mike Scioscia said, "but obviously we have to just take it one step at a time and hopefully it's not going to be anything serious."
On the season, Williams has a 4.46 ERA in 82.2 innings pitched.
