Orioles pitcher Kevin Gausman avoided the loss Friday against the Red Sox.
Gausman allowed three runs, two earned, on seven hits over five innings. He struck out three and did not issue any walks during the outing. Gausman was solid early, turning in three straight scoring innings to open the game. Things took a turn in the fourth, as the inning started with two solo home runs. He allowed an additional run in the fifth inning on an error. The run did not count as earned.
The Orioles managed a comeback, giving Gausman a no-decision. He’ll take on the Yankees in his next start.
