The Marlins have claimed Scott Maine off waivers from the Blue Jays, the club announced Wednesday.
Maine, 27, appeared in nine games for the Indians in 2012, compiling 10.50 ERA in six innings. He recorded a 2.88 ERA and a 0.99 WHIP in 28 games out of the bullpen (34.1 innings) for Triple-A Iowa in the Cubs organization before the Indians claimed him in August.
The Blue Jays claimed Maine from the Indians on Oct. 31 but designated him for assignment last week to make room for the acquisitions of Maicer Izturis and Jeremy Jeffress.
