Rangers pitcher Martin Perez earned his first win of the season Tuesday after giving up four earned runs on eight hits and threee walks in 6 1/3 innings while striking out three in his team's 10-7 win over the Red Sox.

Perez (1-0) pitched much better in his season debut and didn't factor into the decision, but the offense picked him up Tuesday, staking him to an 8-0 lead in the top of the fourth inning. He gave up three singles in the seventh inning before being replaced, and all three runs would eventually score. Perez takes a 4.50 ERA and 10:3 K:BB ratio into his next start, which should come Monday against the Mariners.
