The Mets have signed reliever Scott Atchison to a minor-league deal, the team announced. Atchison will receive an invite to spring training.
Atchison, 36, threw 51 1/3 innings for Boston last season and had a 1.58 ERA and a 2.72 FIP with the team. The right-hander was non-tendered in November by the Red Sox despite his success, making him a free-agent.
In 209.2 career innings, Atchison has a 3.48 ERA and a 3.73 FIP. He was drafted by the Mariners in the 49th round of the 1998 MLB draft.
