Nationals relief pitcher Erik Davis threw his first bullpen session Tuesday since undergoing Tommy John surgery before the 2014 season. Davis threw just 25 pitches, but it was a big step for the 28-year-old, who hopes to be back in the majors by September.
"It's great. It's a good feeling because it's been over a year since I've been on the mound," Davis said. "It's a major milestone for me, but I understand that the work is not done. I'm going to keep working hard on the field."
