Nyjer Morgan has agreed to a one-year, $1.6 million deal with Japan's Yokohama DeNa BayStars, according to the Associated Press.
The 32-year-old outfielder joins the team after six seasons in the majors. After a strong 2011 with the Brewers, Morgan’s production dropped. He hit .239/.302/.308 in 322 plate appearances last season. The Brewers attempted to send Morgan to Triple-A at the end of the season, but he refused the assignment, becoming a free-agent.
In six seasons, Morgan hit .280/.341/.364 in 2,154 career plate appearances.
