Orioles reliever Matt Lindstrom has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with an injury to his right (throwing) middle finger, the club announced early Friday evening.
Lindstrom, 32, has been an integral part of one of baseball's best and most underrated bullpens to this point in the season. In 14 innings pitched, he has a 1.29 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 14 strikeouts. Entering Friday, he is one of five Orioles relievers with at least 13 innings pitched and an ERA of no worse than 1.80. The others: Jim Johnson, Pedro Strop, Luis Ayala and Darren O'Day.
Dana Eveland has been recalled as a corresponding move. The 28-year-old left hander was 3-2 with a 2.21 ERA and 1.23 WHIP in 36 2/3 innings for Triple-A Norfolk.
