The Pirates have designated pitcher Stolmy Pimentel and shortstop Pedro Florimon for assignment, the team announced Sunday.
Pimentel posted a 4.91 ERA with four strikeouts and five walks in nine appearances this spring. Florimon hit .270 with two home runs and five RBI in 37 plate appearances this spring.
