The Pirates announced multiple roster moves Friday:
- The Pirates claimed reliever Hisanori Takahashi off waivers from the Angels. Takahashi owns a 3.80 career ERA in 232 innings but has struggled in 2012, allowing a 4.93 ERA in 42 innings. The issue has been six home runs allowed; his 4.1 K/BB is his best of his three-year career.
- The Pirates called up catcher Jeff Clement and optioned utility man Yamaico Navarro to Triple-A Indianapolis. Clement, the third pick of the 2005 draft, hasn't played in the majors since 2010. He owns a .223/.281/.383 career line but is having success for Indianapolis, with a .825 OPS and 16 home runs. Navarro has struggled for the Pirates, mustering just a .452 OPS.
