The Rangers have activated first baseman Mitch Moreland from the disabled list. Moreland will be in the lineup and batting ninth on Monday night against the Angels.
Moreland, who's hitting .272/.326/.513 with 10 home runs this season, hasn't played since suffering a hamstring injury on June 19. In his absence, Ranger first baseman -- Michael Young, primarily -- have managed to hit just .264/.297/.355, so Moreland's return figures to be a boon to the struggling Texas offense.
In order to make room on the active roster, the Rangers have optioned outfielder Leonys Martin back to Triple-A Round Rock.
