The Rangers have purchased the contract of Sam Freeman from Triple-A Round Rock and designated Stolmy Pimentel for assignment, the team announced on Wednesday.
Freeman has a 1.12 ERA with eight strikeouts and no walks in eight innings of work for Round Rock. Pimentel has a 3.97 ERA and seven strikeouts in 11 1/3 innings of work.
