The Rangers are calling up third-base prospect Mike Olt, according to several reports.
Olt, 23, is one of the game's top prospects, and one of the most talked about players in the Rangers' recent trade talks. However, the team was not keen on trading him, so they missed on some of the bigger names on the market.
A supplemental first-round out of the UConn in 2010, Olt was hitting .287/.399/.575 at Double-A Frisco with 27 home runs, including one on Wednesday.
Texas optioned first baseman Brandon Snyder to make room for Olt.
