The Rangers placed pitcher Ross Detwiler on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his throwing shoulder, per the Star Telegram. Detwiler is 0-5 and felt soreness in his last start, on Thursday.

RHP Tanner Scheppers was called up from Triple-A to take Detwiler's spot. 

The Rangers also called up Ross Ohlendorf from Triple-A. Ohlendorf hasn't made a Major League appearance since September 18, 2013. He was 2-1, 4.35 in Triple A.

To open a spot on the 40-man roster, pitcher Kyuji Fujikawa was designated for assignment.
