It took a stint in the minors and a few rotten starts thereafter, but maybe Red Sox right-hander Joe Kelly has finally found himself.
Kelly crafted his fourth consecutive strong performance Monday night against the host White Sox. He allowed just two runs on five hits in 7 1/3 innings with one walk and four whiffs to raise his record to 7-6.
The only run-scoring hit off him was a Jose Abreu homer in the first, after which he retired 11 of the next 12 batters.
Kelly has given up just five runs in his last 24 1/3 innings and has won five straight decisions.
