Red Sox trade for reliever Craig Breslow

Relief pitcher Craig Breslow is on the move again, this time he's headed to the Boston Red Sox. In exchange, the Diamondbacks will receive outfielder Scott Podsednik and reliever Matt Albers.

Relief pitcher Craig Breslow is on the move again, this time he's headed to the Boston Red Sox, Arizona has announced. In exchange, the Diamondbacks will receive outfielder Scott Podsednik and reliever Matt Albers.

Breslow was shipped to Arizona this past offseason along with Trevor Cahill in exchange for Ryan Cook, Jarrod Parker and Collin Cowgill.

Breslow, 31, has a 2.70 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 42 strikeouts in 43 1/3 innings this season. He has played for six different teams in his career and this will be his second stint with Boston, where he made 13 appearances in 2006.

Podsednik, 36, hit .387/.409/.484 with six stolen bases and nine runs scored for the Red Sox in 19 games this season.With Carl Crawford and Jacoby Ellsbury returning to health, the Red Sox just didn't have room for him.

Albers, 29, has a 2.29 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 25 strikeouts in 39 1/3 innings.
