- Jacoby Ellsbury homered in his third rehab game with Boston's rookie-level Gulf Coast League affiliate, the Boston Herald's Scott Lauber reports. Ellsbury's next move is to Double-A Portland, which could happen as early as Tuesday.
- Carl Crawford is preparing to join Portland's squad as well. Lauber notes that Crawford's ailing elbow checked out fine Monday, and the left fielder is expected to resume his rehab in Portland on Tuesday. Both outfielders appear headed to a return near the All-Star Game.
- Matt Capps is slated to go on a rehab assignment with High-A Fort Myers over the All-Star break, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports. Capps last pitched June 23rd due to a shoulder injury. Jared Burton and Glen Perkins have split the closer's role since, recording two saves each.
