Dan Haren's start Wednesday is in jeopardy due to a stiff back, Alden Gonzalez of MLB.com reported Monday. Haren will be reevaluated following a bullpen session Tuesday. If he can't go, the Angels will start either Garrett Richards or Jerome Williams.
Haren spent a month and a half on the disabled list with a back injury, but the Angels say the stiffness is higher than the area affected by the previous injury. Haren has a career worst 4.59 ERA this season and is allowing 10.1 hits per nine innings and 1.4 home runs per nine innings. The three-time All-Star said he was affected by the pain all season prior to going on the DL.
