The Diamondbacks have released outfield Scott Podsednik after he refused an assignment to Triple-A, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reported Thursday.
Podsednik was acquired in a deadline-day deal sending Craig Breslow to Boston and bringing Matt Albers back to Arizona along with Podsednik. The 36-year-old outfielder appeared in 19 games with the Red Sox, hitting .387/.409/.484. He will become a free agent.
