The Dodgers, fresh off one of the biggest blockbuster deals in history, aren't quite finished. The Dodgers would still like to add a starting pitcher, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reported Monday.
Rosenthal added the Dodgers aren't close to making a deal, and with just four days until the waiver trade deadline, it is unclear if the Dodgers will be able to make any move of substance.
Also, there's the question of if the Dodgers can actually improve on what they have. The Dodgers have a full rotation now, with Clayton Kershaw, Chris Capuano, Aaron Harang, Joe Blanton and Josh Beckett. Would they have considered Joe Saunders, who was traded to Baltimore from Arizona, a better option? Likely not, as the Dodgers would have been able to put in a claim before Baltimore as NL clubs have first rights to NL players on waivers.
So it seems as if the Dodgers won't have too many options, but if the last week has shown anything, general manager Ned Coletti and his new ownership group are willing to make things happen if an opportunity presents itself.
