Report: Mariners looking to add power bat

The Mariners are the opposite of buyers at the trade deadline, but they need to address their AL-worst offense.

The Mariners are interested in hitters they can plug into their lineup for the next "two or three seasons," wrote FOXSports.com's Jon Paul Morosi.

The Mariners have scored 405 runs this season, fewest in the American League.
Having dealt Ichiro Suzuki to the Yankees, the Mariners, Morosi speculates, could seek a power-hitting right fielder.
Seattle's .639 OPS in right field in the AL this season is only better than the Royals', whose right fielders check in with an OPS of .638.
With Shin-Soo Choo and Hunter Pence, two of the more desirable outfielders reportedly on the market, set to become free agents after the 2013 season, Seattle is an unlikely destination for either of them.
Instead, according to Morosi's sources, the Mariners are looking at Minnesota's Josh Willingham and St. Louis' Allen Craig.
Willingham is signed through 2014, for $7 million over each of the next two years. Craig has only a year and change of MLB service time under his belt, and would be a free agent after the 2016 season.
The Twins and Cardinals are known to be looking for pitching, and Seattle has the likes of Jason Vargas and Brandon League that they could trade.
